Krzysztof Stala är född  Polen  och har en doktorsexamen från Stockholms universitet, arbetar som universitetslektor i polska språket och litteratur vid  Köpenhamns universitet. Tyngdpunkten i forskningen ligger på polsk och östeuropeisk litteratur och kultur.
